Elephant may have separated from 4AM, but they’re still hungry to win from what we can see. This team has a formidable roster and should, in principle, become the best team in China over the next 3 – 6 months. In some people’s eyes, they already are. But more victories are needed to get full confirmation of this.

Elephant’s Recent Results

Eurus, Somnus, and the rest of the crew played in 2 Grand Finals in the month of November and managed to win one of them, at China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2, a tournament in which they triumphed over Aster in the final match (3 – 0). The other event was CDA-FDC Professional Championship. Their run was good, but in the Grand Final they lost to PSG.LGD (2 – 3). However, given how close the match was even though Elephant had only been playing for a short while as a group, this result was a clear indication that fy’s team would go on to become much stronger.

Elephant’s Run at OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China

At OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China, Elephant lost again against PSG.LGD but managed to beat Invictus Gaming and Aster in the Group Stage, finishing 2nd with 2 wins and 1 loss. Then, in the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs, they started with a decisive victory over Royal Never Give Up followed by another victory against Vici Gaming. This second match was a real test for them. The games were long and hard-fought, and Eurus’ squad had to make a comeback from the score of 0 – 1.

Their opponent from the upcoming Upper Bracket Final will be PSG.LGD. This team finished the Group Stage with 3 consecutive wins and then went on to beat EHOME in the 2nd round of the Upper Bracket. Undoubtedly, the match will be close. Because of how strong Elephant’s roster is, I expect them to win. But even if they don’t they’ll probably still compete in the Grand Final by winning the Lower Bracket Final. Nevertheless, fy is playing tomorrow (December 10th) for a chance to advance directly to the final match of OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China.

If Elephant manages to win this tournament, I think it’s safe to say that they are now the strongest team in China. And keep in mind, they’ve only played together for a few months and still have what I consider to be a liability: RedPanda. This support player is a complete unknown at this point and could be easily replaced by someone more experienced. However, there’s no reason to second-guess fy’s decisions as a captain. If he sees great potential in him, then he probably deserves to be on the roster. And as long as the team wins trophies and gets top results, it’s unlikely that we’ll see any roster changes.
