DPC 2021 Season 1 China Tiebreakers

DPC 2021 Season 1 China is about to end and only two more matches are left to be played. These matches will determine the winner of the tournament and the 4^th qualified team for the ONE Esports Singapore Major. The stakes are high, so let’s take a look.

Tournament Results

The results of the tournament are the following:

• 1^st place: Invictus Gaming: 6 W – 1 L
• 1^st place: Team Aster: 6 W – 1 L
• 3^rd place: Vici Gaming: 5 W – 2 L
• 4^th place: Elephant: 4 W – 3 L
• 4^th place: PSG.LGD: 4 W – 3 L
• 6^th place: EHOME: 2 W – 5 L
• 7^th place: Team MagMa: 1 W – 6 L
• 8^th place: LBZS: 0 W – 7 L

MagMa and LBZS will no longer play in the Upper Division in Season 2 and will get replaced by two Lower Division teams. These teams are already known: Sparking Arrow Gaming and Royal Never Give Up.

Tiebreakers

The big matches will take place between Invictus Gaming and Team Aster, and between Elephant and PSG.LGD.

Invictus Gaming vs. Team Aster

This matchup favors Aster. The two teams already played against each other in the Group Stage of the tournament and Aster won with ease. Based on that result and the two rosters, I think it’s quite clear who will win if both teams play their usual game. iG’s only assets are Kaka and super. Aster has a team full of superstars.

Elephant vs. PSG.LGD

These two teams met numerous times in the last 6 months and the overall results favor none of them. However, Elephant has been on the rise lately and won the last two encounters. And because of that, I think they should be regarded as the favorites.
