DOTA2 competition for Phygital Games 2024 announced

Dota 2 fans will have one more global tournament to watch out for as the Phygital Games of the Future in Russia will also feature its own Dota tournament.

16 Dota squads have been announced, while some have also confirmed their rosters.

LGD (formerly PSG.LGD), two-time The International finalists, have been confirmed according to organizers, but have not yet released their roster for the tournament.

G2xiG, one of China’s top Dota 2 clubs, are also participating. Their lineup consists of Peng “Monet” Du, Jin Xiang “NothingToSay” Cheng, Jun Wen “JT” Thiay, Zhibiao “BoBoKa” Ye, and Jian Wei “xNova” Yap.

Two other teams from China are among the first to confirm their lineups: Xtreme Gaming and Azure Ray.

Xtreme Gaming’s lineup so far is composed of Chunyu “Ame” Wang, Hongcheng “Xm” Guo, Jing “Xxs” Lin, Zixing “XinQ” Zhao, and Cong “Dy” Ding.

Meanwhile, Azure Ray’s lineup is composed of An Jiang, Linsen “fy” Xu, Ruida “Faith_bian” Zhang, Jiaoyang “Ori” Zeng, and Zhen “Lou” Lou.

Beastcoast and Thunder Awaken – both from South America – will also join in the competition. Organizers are set to announce more teams in the coming days.

The said teams will play at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center in Tatarstan, Russia from February 19-24, for a US$1 Million prize pool, with the champion taking home US$350,000.

The DOTA2 contest is one of the other MOBA legs of the Games of the Future tournament, which also hosts different sports and esports.
