DOTA Summit Online 13 Playoffs Analysis and Predictions

DOTA Summit Online 13 is scheduled to end on November 8th in all of its 3 regions: Americas, Europe & CIS, and Southeast Asia. Right now, the competition is in its Playoffs Stage and in this article I’ll take a brief look at the situation in the first two of these regions.

DOTA Summit Online 13 Americas

In the Americas, a total of 10 teams participated in the Group Stage and 8 of them qualified for the Playoffs. Of those 8, only 6 are left in the race.

  • Quincy Crew
  • Thunder Predator
  • 4 Zoomers
  • Team Zero
  • beastcoast
  • Infamous

At the time of this writing, Quincy Crew is waiting to play in the first round of the Upper Bracket against Thunder Predator. Almost for certain, the match will end with a victory in QC’s favor. If it wins this match, Quinn’s crew will have to face Team Zero in the Upper Bracket Final. And this is the only opponent they drew against in the round-robin. Quincy Crew’s results for this stage were 8 wins – 1 draw – 0 losses. Team Zero’s results were 3 wins – 5 draws – 1 loss. Based on these numbers and the fact that Quincy Crew won its last 7 tournaments, it’s quite clear who the favorite is going to be.

In the Lower Bracket of DOTA Summit Online 13 Americas, beastcoast managed to beat Team Brasil while Infamous defeated catJAMMERS. In the second round of the Lower Bracket, beastcoast will most likely encounter Thunder Predator, while Infamous will need to play against 4 Zoomers.

Overall, the top 3 favorites to win the event are Quincy Crew, 4 Zoomers, and Team Zero.

DOTA Summit Online 13 Europe & CIS

In Europe and CIS, the competition is down to 8 teams and the Playoffs Stage is set to start tomorrow. The competitive format being used here is single-elimination, so we’ll only be able to enjoy 7 matches.

The upcoming matches are the following:

Vikin.gg – Live to Win

This match is almost certainly going to be won by Vikin.gg. The skill difference between these two opponents is substantial. While Vikin.gg has been around for many months and is constantly competing against the best teams in the region, Live to Win is a newly formed team with several strong players but no cohesion.

mudgolems – NiP or Brame

Regardless of who the opponent will be mudgolems is the big favorite.

Team Liquid – NiP or Brame

Same as above. Team Liquid is the winner of the recent ESL One Germany 2020. The chance of NiP or Brame defeating them is almost zero.

Khan – Yellow Submarine

This is going to be the closest match of the 4. And its outcome is very difficult to predict. If I had to pick a winner though, I’d go with Yellow Submarine.
