Dota Pro Circuit is getting closer and closer to the end of the first tour and some of the former best teams in the world are struggling to secure a spot at the Major. In some cases, the battle is even more extreme and its objective is shockingly modest: avoiding relegation. That is the case of Nigma Galaxy for example, whose lineup won The International in 2017 and finished 2nd at the 2019 edition. Now, KuroKy and his crew are in a lot of trouble. With just 3 matches left to be played, the team is occupying one of the last positions in Western Europe, having a record of 1 W – 3 L.

Overall DPC Results After Week 3

Week 3 was, in most regions, just a natural continuation of what had happened up until that point.

Western Europe

This was a good week for Alliance and Nigma. Both teams managed to get their first victory, making a huge step away from relegation. Unfortunately, one of them will likely end up relegating anyway and it will almost certainly be Alliance. Nigma is considerably stronger, so the direct match will likely be won by Kuro’s roster. But for now, Alliance and Nigma have the same record: 1 W – 3 L.

What’s shocking is that Nigma won its match against Secret, which is considered to be one of the strongest teams in the world. Alliance defeated Coolguys, a no-name in the region. So their victory is less relevant. But as was said before, the direct match will most likely determine who gets relegated to the Lower Division. And that match will take place on January 5th.

In the 3rd week of DPC WEU, Liquid continued to prove that MATUMBAMAN is much stronger than people thought. As soon as he joined Liquid, the organization went from good to amazing. For the first time since taking the Coach position, Blitz has a potential world-beating roster under his command.

The partial results in this region look like this:

  • 1st place: Team Liquid: 4 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Team Tickles: 3 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: OG: 2 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: Team Secret: 2 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: Tundra Esports: 2 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: Alliance: 1 W – 3 L
  • 7th place: Nigma Galaxy: 1 W – 3 L
  • 8th place: Coolguys: 0 W – 3 L

Eastern Europe

In Eastern Europe, the 3 leaders have extended their lead. PuckChamp, HellRaisers, and Team Spirit are very close to guaranteeing themselves a spot at the upcoming Major. The only teams that can contest them are the ones that should have been among the best: Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro. But both of them lost some important matches and will need to play better than ever to compensate for them. Given that Na’Vi hasn’t yet played against VP and that neither of them hasn’t yet played against Spirit, there’s a high chance that both will fail to qualify for the Major. But if one of them does end up finishing in the top 3, it will likely be Na’Vi.

  • 1st place: PuckChamp: 4 W – 1 L
  • 2nd place: HellRaisers: 3 W – 0 L
  • 3rd place: Team Spirit: 3 W – 0 L
  • 4th place: Natus Vincere: 2 W – 1 L
  • 5th place: Virtus.pro: 2 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: AS Monaco Gambit: 1 W – 3 L
  • 7th place: Team Empire: 0 W – 4 L
  • 8th place: Team Unique: 0 W – 4 L

North America

In North America, Evil Geniuses seems to have lost the race against Quincy Crew and Undying. The region only has 2 tickets available for the Major and the top 2 teams have perfect scores, while EG has already lost 2 matches. And keep in mind: the big matches, against Undying and Quincy, have not even taken place. Because of this, there’s a high chance that EG will not only lose the Major. It may even have to play a tiebreaker to avoid relegation.

  • 1st place: Quincy Crew: 4 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Team Undying: 3 W – 0 L
  • 3rd place: 4 Zoomers: 2 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: Evil Geniuses: 2 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: Wildcard Gaming: 2 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: Arkosh Gaming: 1 W – 3 L
  • 7th place: Black N Yellow: 1 W – 3 L
  • 8th place: simply TOOBASED: 0 W – 4 L

South America

In South America, Thunder Predator and beastcoast continue to dominate the competition. Both have flawless records but will soon need to meet each other and only one can be the victor.

  • 1st place: Thunder Predator: 4 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: beastcoast: 3 W – 0 L
  • 3rd place: APU King of Kings: 3 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: INF.UESPORTS: 2 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: NoPing e-sports: 1 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: Hokori: 1 W – 3 L
  • 7th place: Lava: 1 W – 3 L
  • 8th place: SG esports: 0 W – 4 L

Southeast Asia

It appears that BOOM Esports is having an amazing season. The massive roster changes that took place prior to the start of the new DPC have worked like magic. Tims is now leading a team of talented players who want to prove themselves. And they are dominating one of the best regions in the world.

At the other extreme we have TNC Predator. This former SEA giant is now well on its way to relegation. It appears that the club management’s decision to change the entire roster with a lot of unproven players has turned out to be a disaster. It’s only a matter of time now until some radical decisions will need to be made to save the brand’s image.

  • 1st place: BOOM Esports: 4 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: T1: 2 W – 0 L
  • 3rd place: Execration: 2 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: Fnatic: 2 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: Motivate.Trust: 2 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: Team SMG: 2 W – 2 L
  • 7th place: OB.Neon: 0 W – 3 L
  • 8th place: TNC Predator: 0 W – 4 L
