Week 6 of Dota Pro Circuit 2021 is about to begin and several top teams are dangerously close to missing the Major. I’ll take a look at the situation below.

North America

With only two available tickets for the Singapore Major, North America is a very tough region. Its two biggest favorites are Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew. Quite surprisingly, QC seems to have the edge in this battle and that puts EG in a vulnerable spot. And not just because the 2nd place team goes to the Major Group Stage instead of the Major Playoffs.

The bigger problem has to do with their regional opponent, Undying, whose excellent results are threatening Fly and his crew. Both teams have a record of 5 wins – 1 loss and there is only one match left to be played. Luckily for EG, they won their direct encounter with Undying and will face 5MM in their last match, while their competitor will have to beat Quincy Crew. Needless to say, the odds heavily favor EG.

The third match of week 6 will take place between Sadboys and  4 Zoomers. No matter what happens here, there will be no significant changes in the rankings table, which currently looks like this:

  • 1st place: Quincy Crew: 6 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Evil Geniuses: 5 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: Undying: 5 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: 4 Zoomers: 3 W – 3 L
  • 5th place: Sadboys: 2 W – 4 L
  • 6th place: A-Team: 2 W – 5 L
  • 7th place: Black N Yellow: 2 W – 5 L
  • 8th place: 5ManMidas: 0 W – 6 L

Most likely, the two relegated teams will be 5MM and BNY.

Europe

With just one series of matches left to go, the situation in Europe is still extremely unpredictable. Team Secret won with 6 consecutive wins and will need to play one more match against OG. But th next 4 teams are very close to each other and their final match of Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season 1 is going to determine whether they go to the Major or not. From the way things look and the final matchups, I expect Secret, Alliance, Nigma, and Liquid to advance. Keep in mind, Europe has 4 spots available in total.

The rankings table looks like this:

  • 1st place: Team Secret: 6 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Alliance: 4 W – 2 L
  • 3rd place: Team Liquid: 3 W – 3 L
  • 4th place: Team Nigma: 3 W – 3 L
  • 5th place: OG: 3 W – 3 L
  • 6th place: Tundra Esports: 3 W – 4 L
  • 7th place: Vikin.gg: 2 W – 5 L
  • 8th place: High Coast Esports: 1 W – 5 L

The final 3 matches will be the following:

  • HCE – Nigma
  • Liquid – Alliance
  • OG – Secret

Liquid looks capable of beating Alliance and if they do, they are guaranteed to qualify. OG looks absolutely doomed here. And Nigma will have a very easy match against HCE. So they too will qualify almost for certain.

Southeast Asia

The battle in Southeast Asia is divided between two categories of teams: the strong and the weak. The difference between these two categories is staggering, as I’ll show in a moment. Some are completely doomed, others are still in the race not just for qualifying to the Major but also winning the competition.

  • 1st place: Fnatic: 5 W – 1 L
  • 2nd place: Neon Esports: 5 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: TNC Predator: 4 W – 2 L
  • 4th place: T1: 4 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: BOOM Esports: 4 W – 3 L
  • 6th place: 496 Gaming: 1 W – 5 L
  • 7th place: Execration: 1 W – 5 L
  • 8th place: Vice Esports: 1 W – 6 L

The last 3 teams are doomed and only one of them will survive. Execration will play against 496 Gaming on February 24th, for a spot in the first SEA division of the second season of DPC 2021. BOOM Esports has no more matches to play and their place is both safe and unrewarding, because only the top 3 competitors will go to the Singapore Major. The big battles will take place between Fnatic and TNC, Neon and T1. Based on the results, we will know which of the 4 teams will be at the Major and who is the winner of the tournament.

CIS

The CIS region has 3 available spots for the Singapore Major and two of them have already been determined. The battle for the 3rd involves 3 competitors: AS Monaco Gambit, Team Spirit, and EXTREMUM.

The current situation looks like this:

  • 1st place: Virtus.pro: 6 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Natus Vincere: 5 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: AS Monaco Gambit: 3 W – 3 L
  • 4th place: Team Spirit: 3 W – 3 L
  • 5th place: EXTREMUM: 3 W – 3 L
  • 6th place: Team Unique: 2 W – 4 L
  • 7th place: Team Empire: 2 W – 5 L
  • 8th place: NoTechies: 1 W – 6 L

The big battles of week 6 will be the following two:

  • AS Monaco Gambit – EXTREMUM
  • pro – Natus Vincere

In the first match, ASM.GMB will likely crush their opponent but the second one looks a lot more balanced.

Team Spirit will also have a relatively easy match against Unique, so it’s not very clear who the 3rd place team will be in the end.

South America

Just like North America, South America has 2 available tickets for the Major. And the battle takes place between beastcoast, Thunder Predator, and SG e-sports. Two of these teams will do battle during the final week of Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season 1.

The current rankings table looks like this:

  • 1st place: beastcoast: 5 W – 1 L
  • 2nd place: Thunder Predator: 4 W – 2 L
  • 3rd place: SG e-sports: 4 W – 2 L
  • 4th place: NoPing e-sports: 4 W – 3 L
  • 5th place: Team Unknown: 3 W – 4 L
  • 6th place: Infamous: 2 W – 4 L
  • 7th place: EgoBoys: 2 W – 4 L
  • 8th place: Latam Defenders: 1 W – 5 L
