Team Aster donates prize money to support flood victims in Henan. Team Aster is one of the best Dota 2 teams in China and recently secured a ticket to The International 10. Aster participated in the i-League 2021, which offered more than $185,000 in prize money.

Aster controlled the entire event, winning against PSG.LGD as well as twice against Vici Gaming, which then won them the tournament and secured the majority of the $92,500 prize. After the i-League ended yesterday, Aster announced that it would donate all of its winnings to flood relief efforts in China’s Henan province.

What happened in Henan

Henan has received an extreme amount of rain recently, which has led to massive flooding. Reportedly, as much rain fell in three days as usually falls in a year. Over a million people had to be evacuated, and at least 63 were killed.

The water floods also displaced millions of people in the capital Zhengzhou and the surrounding area. To make matters worse, Typhoon “In-fa” is sweeping across the country and yet relief efforts continue.

The chinese team has announced that they will donate the last bonus of i-League in the name of Team Aster as disaster relief. They have already donated $30,000 this year to the Wuhan Charity Federation to combat the pandemic.
