While other organizations are in the middle of rebuilding their rosters, Southeast Asia’s top team has decided that no changes are needed. T1 has announced that they have resigned their entire roster, as well as head coach and Dota 2 favourite “March”. He will once again be joined by Carlo “Kuku” Palad, Nuengnara “23savage” teeramahanon, Kenny “Xepher” Deo, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon and Karl “Karl” Baldovino, in what looks like an ominously good lineup ahead of the 2022 season.

Having retained all five players, T1 has arguably the best roster in the Dota scene. They have also got one-up on their rivals, many of whom are in the process of trying to find the right players for next season. T1 achieved real success in Dota 2 for the first time in the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit, having entered the scene back in August 2019. There has been one exit at T1, with analyst “XyuN” having departed the org on October 20.

How T1 Became the Biggest Force in the SEA Dota Scene

The Dota 2 team qualified for The International 10, having also attended both Majors during the season. While T1 ultimately finished only seventh at TI10, meaning that they missed out on the finals, the fact that they took home over $1 million in prize money demonstrated that progress in which they are making.

The T1 Dota 2 roster is completed largely by ex-Geek Fam players, who joined the org after being released in September 2020. Both Xepher and Karl were signed almost immediately after they became free agents, with Whitemon and Kuku having joined during the 2021 DPC season one. With such players on board, T1 recorded a third-place finish, seeing them qualift for the ONE Esports Singapore Major.

What About T1’s Rivals?

However, with Kuku having been absent due to health issues, T1 was one of the first teams eliminated from the event. It was the arrival of 23savage that really turned T1 into a force to be reckoned with, with T1 having been the highest ranked SEA team in the second regional league, before then finishing third at the WePlay AniMajor.

The latest news means that T1 will go into the new DPC season as the firm favourites in the SEA region. The likes of Fnatic and TNC Predator are still working on completing their lineups, with major changes expected on both team rosters. We will bring further updates regarding such roster changes as and when they are announced.
