B8 Esports has been forced to make another roster change, with Danil “Dendi” Ishutin having been removed from the organization’s Dota 2 lineup this week. With Alimzhan “Watson” Islambekov, Yaroslav “Limitless” Parshin and Sergey “(T)SA” Timchenko having been removed from the team’s active roster this month, it was only Dendi that remained active.

However, the Dota legend was forced to leave the team as a result of a Dota Pro Circuit ownership ruling. Fans noticed the change on the official Valve team registry page. Based on the registry, we now know that Dendi was removed by ex-B8 pro and CIS favorite Aleksandr “Nofear” Churochkin, due to him owning the registered DPC slot.

Why Dendi Was Made Inactive by B8

This is due to Nofear being the former captain of XactJlepbI, who merged with B8 before the 2021 DPC second season. The merger came about as a result of XactJlepbI having already secured their place in the league, with B8 looking to avoid relegation after their 8th place finish in season one.

While the merger did not go down well, because of the fact that it allowed B8 to skip the open qualifiers. However, the team certainly benefited, with B8 having recorded a 6th place finish in the regional league season two. Dendi will likely be able to remain in control of the team going into the 2022 DPC.

What B8 Has Said On the Matter

Speaking on the matter, B8 wrote the following statement: “The slot under which we played for the last six months is registered by someone who didn’t want to negotiate. Yes, this situation seems weird. We don’t want to argue nor waste time on it now. Our main focus is the Dota 2 roster.”

The org will now be focusing its efforts upon rebuilding its roster, with B8 having undoubtedly learned plenty from this debacle. The team is set to play in the lower division open qualifiers of the CIS regional league when the new DPC gets underway. Should they fail to qualify, B8 would be unable to compete in the DPS until the next round of open qualifiers. They would also be relegated to smaller tournaments for a number of months.

With Dendi gone, B8 faces the prospect of finding an entirely new roster. It remains to be seen as to who will join the org, with B8 likely to target many of the free agents who are currently available.
