Lots of changes for both Liquid and Secret as they exchange players and build their new lineups. Team Liquid picks up zai and MATUMBAMAN from Team Secret, with MATUMBAMAN having been with Liquid before. Team Liquid’s qojqva changes from player to streamer for the organization and Team Secret gets iceiceice in the line-up because by MATUMBAMAN and zai left some empty spots in the lineup.

Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen recently announced that he will be parting ways with Team Secret. Now he has posted a short video on his Twitter account, holding a jersey of Team Liquid – his former organization. Because that is where he is going to return to. MATUMBAMAN was under contract with Team Liquid for several years and even won the TI7 with them, which was definitely a highlight of his career.

Team Liquid

In June 2019, he left the team and moved first to Chaos EC and then to Team Secret, with whom he also celebrated great successes. Not only Matumbaman leaves Team Secret – Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg also leaves the team after playing for them for 3 years. zai is going to join Team Liquid as well.

Team Liquid on the other hand have a few too many players with the two new additions and therefore Max “qojqva” Bröcker is going to change to streaming, instead of playing for the organization. The 26-year-old German will be streaming full-time for the organization and creating other content, but he doesn’t rule out getting back into the competitive game at a later date: “I’m far from done with competitive gaming. If anything, the last few months have shown me that I’m not done yet.”

Team Secret

So Team Secret has lost Zai and MATUBAMAN to Liquid, but the team wasted no time and has already snagged a replacement – that is none other than Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang. iceiceice is already since 2005 in the Dota scene on the way, and could celebrate great successes in this time.

The Singaporean played for Scythe.SG, with whom he also participated in the first TI, and was with organizations such as Fnatic, Evil Geniuses and Vici Gaming. In total, he has been to The International nine times with seven different teams, so he brings a lot of experience to his new home, Team Secret.

iceiceice definitely seems to be looking forward to his new team and his new colleagues: “I am really looking forward to playing with Secret. It’s the perfect lineup for my style of play, and Puppey (Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, Secret’s team captain) has always been someone I’ve wanted to play with for the last 10 years.” And now the chance has finally come and fans are definitely looking forward to see how both of them are going to work together.
