Dignitas have added two players to its LCS starting roster, with former 100 Thieves Academy players Max “Soligo” Soong and Aaron “FakeGod” Lee having joined the North American organization ahead of the 2021 season. Following what was a disappointing 2020 for Dignitas, the team will be hoping that the arrival of the duo can propel them up the standings.

Why Dignitas Signed Soligo & FakeGod

Dignitas finished in the bottom half of the table in both the LCS Spring and Summer Splits this year, having ended the campaign with a poor 5-13 record. The team was also knocked out of the playoffs following a sweep by eventual winners TSM. As a result of such results, the likes of Omran “V1PER” Shoura, Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun and Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen were released, with jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett having been the only player to re-sign with the team.

As a result of such departures, the Dignitas main roster had several open spots, with Soligo and FakeGod having been the first to join their ranks during the offseason. Soligo finished with the fourth-highest KDA and assists for any Academy mid laner in the 2020 Summer Split, based on figures from Oracle’s Elixir, while teammate FakeGod recorded the third-highest number of kills and fourth most deaths by any top laner.

Can We Expect Further Arrivals at Dignitas?

Both have shown that they have the potential to cut it at the highest level, with moves to Dignitas potentially providing the perfect platform for them to flourish. The fact that they will be competing alongside Dardoch and support Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black will only benefit the duo too. The experienced LCS players will be looking to help Soligo and FakeGod adjust to being main roster starters, as well as delivering personally.
The only available position for Dignitas is now at starting AD Carry, with Academy marksman Toan “Neo” Tran being their only option at present. It remains to be seen as to whether the former OpTic Gaming Academy player will be promoted to their main roster.
