DarkZero Set to Acquire Kooky Koalas VALORANT Roster

DarkZero Esports looks set to become the latest organization to join the VALORANT scene, with the acquisition of the Kooky Koalas team set to be announced in the near future. News of the deal was broken by Arran “Halo” Spake on April 15, with several other sources having now confirmed it.

Kooky Koalas have been without an organization since the team was founded at the beginning of 2021. This has not stopped them competing in a host of North American VALORANT Champions Tour events. During such events, the team has recorded impressive victories over both Spacestation Gaming and Built by Gamers.

Why Kooky Koalas Is the Roster of Choice for DarkZero

DarkZero has made no secret of their intention to enter the VALORANT scene, having been on the lookout for a roster since the beginning of the month. While the organization has so far failed to comment on links to Kooky Koalas, it appears to be a matter of time until things are made official.

Kooky Koalas recorded a top 32 finish at the VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2: Challengers 1 event. However, they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Ghost Gaming on April 2, in what was their latest outing in the Riot Games title. The team first burst onto the scene in the VCT Stage 1 Challengers 3, where they beat Built by Gamers and beatcoast. The duo were regarded as two of the leading contenders at the time.

Who Features on the Kookly Koalas Roster?

The outsiders were ultimately force into the lower bracket following a loss at the hands of Luminosity Gaming in the upper bracket last 16. They were then eliminated following a 2-0 defeat by Gen.G on March 5. The Kooky Koalas roster is currently made up by Kyle “ScrewFace” Jensen, Andy “Andersin” Collins, Nick “Hamon” Harmon, Adam “Ange” Milian and Erik “d1msumboi” Almhjell. Zack “huuaw” Solomon is the coach of the team.
DarkZero is an organization known for its involvement in Rainbow Six: Siege, with their team having won the Six August Major NA just last year. It remains to be seen as to how successful their venture into VALORANT will be.
