Dallas Empire Search for FeLo Replacement After Benching

Despite being the reigning Call of Duty League champions, the Dallas Empire find themselves at something of a crossroads. The team has announced that Tyler “FeLo” Johnson will return to their bench, having only recently rejoined following a loan spell at EastR.

The Empire shocked many when they replaced star man Cuyler “Huke” Garland with FeLo in April. However, having finished his time in the starting lineup with a 0.87 overall K/D, it is perhaps easy to see why the veteran once again finds himself on the substitutes bench. The Call of Duty League is currently in a bye week, however this has not stopped roster changes being made.

How the Empire Broke the News of FeLo’s Benching

Breaking the news on Twitter, the Dallas Empire posted: “We are incredibly grateful to FeLo for stepping into our starting lineup over the past few weeks. As of today, he will be moving back to a reserve role, and we will be bringing a new player to the Empire.”
FeLo made his first start for the team against the Toronto Ultra at the end of April, however they have looked a shadow of their former selves. This is demonstrated by their 2-3 series record in the Stage Three group play. They were then knocked out of the Stage Three Major by OpTic Chicago, with Dallas having failed to win a single roster in their two matches during the event.

Who Will Replace FeLo?

With Huke having now found a new home with the Los Angeles Thieves, fans of the Empire will be questioning who will step up to the plate. Huke is undoubtedly one of the leading submachine gun pros around, meaning that it will be difficult to find a replacement with the same skill set.

The current Empire lineup is made up by Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal, Ian “C6” Porter and Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro. However, it remains to be seen as to who will come in, with Dallas due to take on OpTic Chicago in Stage Four on May 27.
