Aleksi “allu” Jalli has announced that he will be taken an extended break from competing in CS:GO, with the ENCE AWPer having admitted that the “hectic nature” of the Esports title had had a significant impact upon him. No timeframe has yet been put on the leave of absence, however we are unlikely to see the Finnish veteran any time soon.

What allu Said On His Decision

Speaking on his decision, allu stated that: “This has been one of the hardest [decisions] of my career but the end of 2020 and hectic years with minimal breaks has really taken a toll on me. Keeping going without proper time to heal and reflect has led me to being extremely drained and fatigued inside and outside the server.”

Continuing, allu said: “This feeling inside me has made me realize that a timeout is needed to be able to continue playing and competing in the game I love. “My goal is to be back sooner rather than later. I’m extremely grateful for people who have supported me through thick and thin. See you soon.”

Allu has played for the likes of mousesports, Ninjas in Pyjamas and OpTic Gaming in the past, before winning the DreamHack Open Winter 2018 with ENCE. With CS:GO events having been impacted significantly by the Covid-19 pandemic, ENCE’s last notable outing was a 1st-2nd finish at the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Showdown.

What the Announcement Means for ENCE

ENCE have been understanding regarding allu’s decision, taken the necessary steps to accommodate his needs. Speaking on the matter, head coach Eetu “sAw” Saha and ENCE general manager Niklas “Willkey” Ojalainen stated the following via a press release: “Wellbeing and ability to operate in full form is a top priority for us and we hope to see a fully refreshed allu on the servers.”

It is understood that Polish youngster Olek “hades” Miskiewicz will stand in for allu during his period of absence. The 21-year-old could well feature when ENCE compete at the LOOT.BET Season Nine Quarter Finals on May 12.
