Mark your calendars, folks, as the Call of Duty League returns to action in February of 2021! After a fairly long drought, we finally have a bit of official information to sink our teeth into! So, without any further ado, let’s go over what was just announced!

Call of Duty League | Kickoff Classic & 2021 Season

To mark the one-year anniversary of the CDL, Activision is organizing a special one-off event that’ll take place on January 23—24, starting at 3pm ET (or 12pm PT). It’ll include fan-voted show matches and will provide us with additional 2021 season details and a group selection show! You can catch it live on the official Call of Duty League YouTube channel!

A couple of weeks later, the regular season will officially commence with the Opening Weekend on February 11—14. Atlanta FaZe will take on the hosting role. CDL fans across the globe finally have a date to work with, and it’s been a long time coming! There are many fascinating changes coming to the CDL, and most of them pertain to the league’s overall format. 4v4 matches are now the name of the game, with players also transitioning to PC instead of PlayStation 4.

We’ve already covered these changes in-depth, so make sure to check that piece out if you’re looking for more information! Most rosters have already been finalized, and we’ll get to see a brand new challenger join the fray as well, namely the Los Angeles Thieves. The fact that Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag’s organization is once again entering competitive Call of Duty is more than enough reason to get excited for the future! Plus, with the Chicago Huntsman rebranding into Chicago OpTic (and Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez reclaiming ownership of the OpTic brand), it’s fair to say that exciting narratives and bombastic storylines will not be absent. Not in the slightest!

The 2021 season of the Call of Duty League is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to see what Activision has planned for the future! As always, we’ll bring you more coverage as things hit the web!
