After almost 18 months without any changes, Mousesports has finally altered their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster, with Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras taking over from Özgür “woxic” Eker. The change will be immediate, confirming rumours surrounding the team which began at the start of the month.

Having initially been signed as a development player, Bymas will now find himself on the Mousesports CS:GO roster sooner than he would have expected, with the German organisation looking to return to winning ways following a poor run of form. Having ended last year with three consecutive victories, including the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals. The team lead by Karrigan have since struggled, with the switch to online play having seemingly done them no favours.

Why Mousesports Have Made Such a Change

Mousesports have not yet qualified for the CS:GO Major, with their performances at the DreamHack Open Fall Europe potentially determining whether they eventually make the grade. This will be the third and final Regional Major Ranking event, with Mousesports knowing that the pressure is on to deliver.

Woxic competed for Mousesports for the final time at the ESL One Cologne Europe last week, a tournament in which the team were knocked out after just two matches. Why the organisation has not yet stated why the Turkish player has been replaced, some reports suggest that problem with his attitude were the main reason.

What Impact Will the Arrival of Bymas Have on the Mousesports CS:GO Team?

The addition of Bymas to the Mousesports CS:GO roster could well mean that chrisJ becomes the team’s AWPer, with the experienced dutchman having carried out the same role in the past, before making the move to in-game leader and support. Bymas is just 17 years of age, with his first professional experience coming as a stand in earlier in the year for FaZe.

As for Woxic, with it being unlikely that he will move to another team at this stage of the season as a result of the RMR Roster Lock, it is possible that he could return to the Mousesports starting line-up at some stage.

Bymas is likely to appear for Mousesports in the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe, starting on September 1, meaning that fans do not have long to wait to see whether the roster change has the desired impact.
