BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe/CIS is about to enter the Playoffs Stage. Out of the initial 9 teams, 8 are still in the race. Basically, everyone except B8, which turned out to be a complete disaster yet again. In this article, I will take a close look at what happened so far and what is likely to happen next.

BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe/CIS Group Stage Results

BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe/CIS had a predictable Group Stage. Teams like mudgolems and Vikin.gg shined, while weaker competitors such as B8 had a really rough time. These were the complete results (measured in games, because the matches were Bo2):

  • 1st place: mudgolems: 14 W – 2 L
  • 2nd place: Vikin.gg: 12 W – 4 L
  • 3rd place: Ninjas in Pyjamas: 11 W – 5 L
  • 4th place: Khan: 8 W – 8 L
  • 5th place: HellRaisers: 8 W – 8 L
  • 6th place: 5men: 8 W – 8 L
  • 7th place: Team Unique: 7 W – 9 L
  • 8th place: Team Empire: 3 W – 13 L
  • 9th place: B8: 1 W – 15 L

As you can see, FATA’s team finished first and proved itself to be considerably stronger than the other teams at this competitive level. Of course, if we think regionally, BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe/CIS should be regarded as a tier 2 event. And its competitors are tier 2 teams. Some of them, such as mudgolems, have players who succeeded at the highest competitive level and would probably be able to compete with the strongest opponents in Europe and CIS. But others are far weaker and can barely hold their own even at this event.

Playoffs Stage Predictions

The Playoffs Stage of BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe/CIS features 8 teams. Half of these teams will start in the Upper Bracket while the other half will start in the Lower Bracket. These are the initial 4 matches:

mudgolems versus Khan (UB)

In the Group Stage, the match between these two teams ended in a draw. However, that match was mudgolems’ debut. And as a result, I fully expect them to play much better this time and with a score of 2 – 0.

Vikin.gg versus NiP (UB)

Vikin.gg drew against NiP in the Group Stage, so this is likely to be a very close match. Both of these teams have strengths of their own, but I would say that Vikin.gg is the favorite. Its recent results are simply much better than NiP’s.

HellRaisers versus Team Empire (LB)

HellRaisers drew against the best teams of the Group Stage: mudgolems and Vikin.gg. And they also defeated Team Empire in the round-robin. So I don’t see how a Bo3 match could possibly end with a favorable result for their opponent.

5men versus Team Unique (LB)

5men crushed Team Unique in the Group Stage in 2 quick games. And the overall results clearly suggest that 5men is the better team. On top of that, 5men has a formidable roster made up of former Major champions and TI Grand Finals participants: Ace, Misery, and PieLieDie.
