Leading Indonesian organization Bigetron Esports is to enter the VALORANT scene after announcing its first roster surrounding the Riot Games first-person shooter title. Better known for its success in mobile gaming, the organization is now looking to branch out with this new division. Bigetron has Esports lineups competing in mobile events across the globe already.

Bigetron is best known for its PUBG Mobile lineup, with the team having won the World Championships two years running. They are one of the leading teams in the scene, despite having failed to live up to expectations at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship.

Who Will Make Up the Bigetron VALORANT Roster?

The organization made an announcement regarding its new venture on Wednesday, with its VALORANT team to be known as Bigetron Astro. Competing in Indonesia and in the SEA on a global level, the lineup will be made up by Niki “xoxo” Utomo (Sentinel), Fidel “fw” Saputra (Sentinel), Edward “fatpenguin” (Controller), Fikri “famouzy” Zaki (Initiator), Nico “nayy” Alvanius (Duelist) and Thomas “cud” Alfiantino (Duelist).

Why Bigetron Entered the VALORANT Scene

Due to its popularity, Bigetron has unsurprisingly focused upon Mobile Esports. However, with Riot Games having targeted Southeast Asia for new titles, including League of Legends: Wild Rift, it is also no shock that the organization has added to its armory. SEA was recently added to the VALORANT Champions Tour for 2021, adding to the games’ appeal for Esports organizations.

An increasing number of organizations around the world are entering the VALORANT scene, despite the game still being relatively new in terms of Esports. New tournaments are being established in regions around the world, with Bigetron being the latest hoping to get in on the action.

It remains to be seen how quickly Bigetron can make an impact in VALORANT, however with some big events coming up in the calendar, we will not have to wait long to see how Astro gets on. In fact, the Valorant Challengers #2 could well be their debut, which gets underway later this week. Bigetron Esports is owned by League of Legends professional Edwin “Starlest” Chia.
