Astralis Merge Teams to Become Global Brand

Danish Esports organisation is a name that is synonymous with the European CSGO community, while they have also competed in League of Legends and FIFA in the past. Their CSGO team won three consecutive CSGO Major Championships between 2018 to 2019, taking their overall successes in the event to a record breaking four. Despite mainly focusing upon CSGO, Astralis has also acquired other teams along the way.

The organisation has now announced that they have formed a merger with Origen and Future FC In an attempt to grow on a more global level. Origen has been representing Astralis in League of Legends, while Future FC were their FIFA representative, however taking to their official Twitter page, the organisation stated that: “A new era begins. One Brand. One Family.”

What the Merger Means for Astralis

As a result of the merger, the Astralis Group will join forces with all other organisations and teams, which will still be recognised as Astralis. The inclusion of all three parties now makes Astralis one of the biggest names in global Esports, with CEO Anders Hørsholt having also had his say on the announcement.

“Through the merger of all activities and our team brands, we position ourselves as a leading organization in international esports. We have made the strategic decision to dedicate all resources to creating a truly global brand in esports and gaming. By merging all activities, not only do we become one of the most significant esports brands in a fast growing global industry, we will also be able to create a new space for fans of all kinds, with much more on the shelves when it comes to merchandise, media activities and new fan related products.”

How Changes at Astralis Will Impact the Esports Industry

The merger was designed with gamers in mind too, with the new structure meaning that fans of the teams are all consolidated under a single name and brand. The merger should also benefit Esports in general, especially those based in regions with less exposure. Gaming fans should also receive a more wholesome overall experience as a result. Hørsholt went on to talk about the aims of Astralis, stating: “We want to champion the positive potential of gaming through example, by providing a guiding star for aspiring gamers worldwide.”
