Danish organization has agreed a three-year partnership with Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency platform. The deal will see Astralis players take part in Bybit’s gamified crypto trading event, the World Series of Trading, which takes place each year.

What the Deal Will Mean for Astralis

It is understood that Astralis pro’s will act as leading “troops” at the event, with captains set to be unveiled by the org on August 24 via social media. The World Series of Trading will see troops and solo players battle it out for a $7.5 million prize pool, 5% of which will be provided by Byfit. Speaking on the announcement, Bybit co founder, Ben Zhou, stated that:

“We are extremely proud of teaming up with an organization like Astralis, who for years have been a dominant factor in esports and who have significantly contributed to a more positive view of esports and gaming. Just like Astralis, Bybit is in it for the long run. I feel that WSOT 2021 is the perfect place in time to invite esports creators and fans to join the world of the future of finance. Attractive prize money and NFT prizes are up for grabs in WSOT 2021, but for each participant it’s about creating an experience on a level playing field.”

ByBit’s logo will also now feature on Astralis’ CS:GO jerseys, with the two parties also focusing on initiatives surrounding financial education and carbon neutrality. ByBit has made major moves within the Esports scene of late, partnering with Ukranian giants Natus Vincere, as well as Swedish org Alliance. ByBit has a three-year deal with Na’Vi, as well as a two-year partnership with Alliance.

What Astralis has said on the deal

Jakob Lund Kristensen, Astralis Co-founder and CRO, had the following to say on the deal: : “We are truly excited about this partnership and working with Bybit. Both companies are pioneers in their field, striving to make a positive impact as organisations, as individuals and via the ongoing global digitalisation. This will be done through initiatives and campaigns centred around education and charitable work supporting and promoting a more sustainable agenda in the tech and gaming world.”
It will be interesting to see how the Esports community reacts to Astralis competing in an event such as the World Series of Trading, with other org’s potentially following in their footsteps. Meanwhile, the deal will be another major boost to ByBit, as they look to enhance their brand reach.
