Astralis look set to sign no fewer than four League of Legends players, who will be arriving from a host of European League teams. The main Astralis LEC roster will include top laner Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormunen, jungler Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov and mousesports duo Jesper “Jeskla” Strömberg and Hampus “Promisq” Abrahamsson.

The new-look Astralis team will start competing in 2021, with news surrounding their new arrivals having been broken by ESPN’s Jabob Wolf. WhiteKnight is a veteran of the LEC scene, with the 24-year-old having previously represented Unicorns of Love, whilst more recently competing in a series of EU events for BIG, including the European Masters.

What the New Look Astralis Roster Will Look Like

Many League of Legends fans will be familiar with Zanzarah, who gained a good reputation during his time with Origen, where the Russian played in the 2019 LEC Regional Gauntlet, having filled in for Jonas “Kold” Andersen. The experienced junger made the move to AGO Rogue at the beginning of the year, where he won the Ultraliga Championship and European Masters Summer Championship.

Meanwhile, both Jeskla and Promisq are well-known in the LEC community, with their experience together at mousesports potentially being invaluable to Astralis. Jeskla played for Excel Esports last year, while Promisq is a veteran who has represented the likes of Schalke 04, H2K Gaming and G2 Esports in the past.

Will Astralis’ Fortunes Turn Around Following the New Arrivals?

The duo were also part of the mousesports team that won the Prime League Pro Division Summer Championship, before eventually coming unstuck against AGO Rogue in the semi finals of the Summer European Masters over the summer. The quartet will line up alongside Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm, with Astralis looking to make vast improvements upon their showing from last season. The Danish organization finished the summer with a 6-12 record, meaning that they ended up rock bottom of the standings.

Such moves could well be made official when the global free agency period opens on Monday November 16, with a host of other deals expected to become known. Be sure to keep a close eye on our site for news surrounding transfers.
