Jack “NiceWigg” Martin has joined 100 Thieves as a content creator, with the organization having invested in Apex Legends after an extended period away from the game. The American made his name playing for both Counter Logic Gaming and Yeet Squad, with NiceWigg having dominated the scene for the most part.

The 24-year-old was previously the number one Octane in the world following the release of Apex Legends. His talent was one thing, however it was his use of a controller that saw his stand out. He is without a doubt the leading Apex controller player of all time. Having departed Counter Logic Gaming in July 2020, NiceWigg played for Yeet Squad for four months.

How 100 Thieves broke the news of NiceWigg’s arrival

His move to 100 Thieves was confirmed over the weekend, with the organization having posted the following message on Twitter: “Welcome @NiceWigg to 100 Thieves! NiceWigg joins us as an Apex Legends creator. He’s one of the most genuine people we have ever met, with one of the most supportive and kind communities. We are so thrilled to have him as part of the family. #100T”

The announcement was well received by the vast majority, with leading Esports personality Dr Disrespect having also given his approval by posting: “Great pick up! Genuine personality and talent.”

Why NiceWigg is a major coup for 100 Thieves

NiceWigg has over 400,000 followers on Twitch, as well as almost 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, with the American having been creating content at the same time as competing as an unsigned player. He appeared at the Apex Legends Global Series, which is the pinnacle of the scene at this time.

During his announcement video, NiceWigg discussed some of his defining career moments, including his battle to reach number one Octane, being hosted by Shroud and match up with Dizzy. It is not just NiceWigg who has appeared on 100 Thieves’ Twitter page, with the streamer’s mother having also featured.

NiceWigg has made no secret of his excitement at joining 100 Thieves, having written: “Thank you for the best day of my life. Joining 100Thieves was a dream of mine and now it’s reality. Ever since I started streaming I knew this was the home for me. Been grinding for that spot from the beginning. Wouldnt be possible without y’all. Thank you and I love you.”

100 Thieves launched an Apex Legends team some years ago, before dropping its entire roster in August 2019, a decision which was in large down to disappointing results.
