If reports are to be believed, KRÜ Esports, the team founded by soccer star Sergio Aguero, are looking to enter the CS:GO scene, with former MiBR player Ignacio “meyern” Meyer looking likely to be the first to sign up. It has also been rumored that Uruguay’s Maximiliano “maxajus” Gonzalez will also be joining the organization.

KRÜ have clearly been busy recruiting, with in-game leader Luca “Luken” Nadotti set to be the captain of the team, a move which would see him reunited fwith meyern. The former Sharks Esports player will also be joined by Nahuel “nhl” Herrera and Gabriel “1962” Sinopoli, with the rifling duo having been acquired from Coscu Army.

How KRÜ Has Been Able to Attract Such Names

Aguero had a major hand in creating KRÜ Esports back in October, with the organization having already competed in FIFA events. A host of players have arrived, along with a few content creators. While no official announcement regarding their entry into the CS:GO Scene has been made, it appears to be a certainty.

Meyern played for MiBR for a period of six months after stepping in for Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles, helping them to a runner-up finish at Flashpoint 1 and a semi-final appearance at the North American EPL Season 11 Finals. As a result, this would be something of a coup for KRÜ.

Following his departure from the Brazilian team, the Argentine teenager has been competing for South American team 9z, which was also the home of maxujas. The influence of founder Aguero has potentially played a key role in recruiting such names, with the Manchester City forward being one of many professional sportsmen to have moved into the world of Esports.

Why it is an Exciting Time for South American CS:GO

Fellow South American Casemiro is the latest to have launched an Esports team, with CaseEsports set to compete in the Brazilian CS:GO scene. Casemiro’s Brazilian teammate Neymar Jr is another lover of gaming, however the PSG man has recently had his Twitch channel banned, for a seemingly unknown reason.

South America has long been a major force in the Counter-Strike scene, however KRÜ will be looking to break the mold in terms of the dominance of Brazilian teams. The likes of MiBR, Luminosity and SK Gaming have achieved big things. KRÜ are likely going to have to compete with a host of other new teams, with other ex-MiBR talents looking to find new homes, adding to the hype around the region.
