ESL One Thailand 2020 Americas is approaching the end of its 5th competitive day. At the time of this writing, Quincy Crew is taking on Thunder Predator in the 2nd match of the day. The first was played between CR4ZY and 4 Zoomers. It ended with yet another victory for 4 Zoomers, which now has 3 wins in a row at this tournament. Apart from CR4ZY, they defeated Quincy Crew and beastcoast, arguably two of the best teams in the Americas. With these results, 4 Zoomers is looking unstoppable. But who is this team and what do we know about it?

A Few Things About 4 Zoomers

4 Zoomers is a North American team that was founded this year, at the end of March. So far, they’ve had zero roster changes and 3 Grand Finals. They won two of them. It’s true, all of them were in small tournaments, but this team had some important results as well. For instance, they finished 3rd in The Great American Rivalry Season 1 Division 1. And the team that eliminated them there, CR4ZY, just got defeated by them tonight.

Players

The roster of 4 Zoomers will probably sound familiar to you. Sammyboy is a known carry in the region and has been playing professionally for more than 4 years. Gunnar is even more famous, even though he’s been competing for only two years. He used to play for NiP and that’s quite impressive for his age (20). Next we have monkeys-forever, who’s a veteran. Since 2012, he played in a dozen different teams with varying degrees of success. His biggest achievement is a 9th – 12th place at a Dota Pro Circuit Major. The position 4 player is ocean, a name that doesn’t say much. At least for now. And finally, we have Husky, who’s the position 5 player of the team. Again, just several years of experience and few results to speak of.

Opportunity for 4 Zoomers at ESL One Thailand 2020 Americas

This looks like a good mixture of veterans and young talent. One thing’s for certain. With Evil Geniuses out of the picture (they temporarily moved to Europe) and the likes of Quincy Crew and CR4ZY not playing the best Dota of their career, 4 Zoomers seems to have a big opportunity to make a name for itself by winning a significant trophy. ESL One Thailand 2020 is an important regional tournament. Claiming this title would mean a lot for a small team like 4 Zoomers. But we’ll have to see how the next competitive days play out. The odds seem to be on their side though.
